Forgive them?!

Updated: Mar 3

Have you ever been told to forgive someone? How did it feel, being told to negate your own hurt and do something for someone who has no regard for your feelings? Pretty shite hey. “Blame the victim” kind of anger and rage ensues.

No, it’s not fair. Forgive them?! Hell no.

But holding hurt and anger and rage at someone does hurt our heart.

What to do?

What I’ve learnt is that forgiving ourselves is the starting point for healing. It opens the door to our own heart again.

We can forgive ourselves and find peace, clarity and compassion. The disownment of ourselves dissipates and we can allow ourselves to feel love.

Simple yet profound forgiveness practices also open the door to our connection to the divine again and mystic experiences can flow.

I forgive myself for… letting the words out with brutal honesty we finally feel all that we’ve been holding without censoring and it can be let go. The clarity we find ourselves in then can be quite surprising. We see the how, the why and find compassion and hope. We gain meaning for going through what has unfolded.

Take a few moments to gaze upon this light code by Susanne Amara called Higher Heart Blessing while you tune into the frequency of forgiving yourself.

I invite you to use a simple 20 minute practice to guide you through forgiving yourself.

Choose one situation that has really upset you that involves one other person.

Set a timer for 10 minutes and using the following prompts write and write and write.

I forgive myself for...

I accept ...

Forgive yourself for somehow even being in that situation, that dynamic, for anyway you crossed yourself, for feeling...and describe all the feelings. Forgive yourself for allowing shit to happen to you, for choosing to be indebted to others, for beliefs and behaviours that led you to this happening. Allow yourself to feel all your emotions and get them on to the paper in any way you can, writing, scrawling, stabbing. Write from your heart, write from your gut. Be totally disgustingly honest.

Now, scrunch up the pages and burn them.

Set the timer for 4 minutes. Sit quietly and notice how you feel in your body and your emotions. Ask yourself, "If there could be any kind of purpose in going through all this, what would it be? What's in it for me? What will I give/gift to myself from this?"

Set the timer for 6 minutes. Lay down with some gentle music playing. Call upon Great Spirit to be with you and continue to heal you. Say, "I allow myself to receive. I ask Great Spirit to release me from any and all karmic indebtedness that I am ready to release at this time. I deeply, profoundly and completely love, forgive and accept myself."

Write down anything you experience during the meditation in your journal.

*If you feel "wobbly" after this experience please reach out to me for a free 15 minute support call by booking on my website. You may have released a large amount of karma and this can cause you to feel adrift for a time. No need to do that alone, I'm here for you! Please stay hydrated, get your feet bare on the earth and add some root vegetables to your next meal.

This practice opens up the door to reconnecting with your spirit and the divine and you may undergo a massively transformative healing with Great Spirit, the Angels and your guides such as Quetzal Earth Mother. Setting the timer allows you to go into the experience more deeply.

Many blessings to you,

Samantha Lightning Heart Dreamer
